Reading Round: a reading group with a difference

'Reading Round' a new group being held at BRLSI.

Calling all literature lovers, aspiring writers and anyone with a passion and curiosity for reading! Have you heard about Reading Round? If you want to be immersed in great writing weekly you may want to find out more about this new event coming to BRLSI!

Beginning from September and running until June at BRLSI, Reading Round is a weekly reading group. It will be led by Jasbinder Bilan, author of Asha & The Spirit Bird and Tamarind & The Star Of Ishta, as part of the Royal Literary Fund (RLF). Founded over 200 years ago in 1790, the RFL is a UK charity which believes in the importance of writers, offering financial support, advice and earning opportunities across the UK. Assisting in enabling writers to keep writing and to share their skills with others! You can find out more about what they do on their website – https://www.rlf.org.uk/what-we-do/

As part of their mission they created Reading Round groups, these community reading groups meet regularly over 30 weeks from now until June and this year we have one at BRLSI! These meetings will be discovering stories and poems for sheer enjoyment and are open to any member of the public. With professional author Jasbinder Bilan, this close-knit group will learn, listen and discover poems, short-stories and other writing with others. Learning how writers do what they do, there is no prep required and the texts will be provided.

Tickets are free and the next Reading Round group is September 18th! So if you would like to explore great literature and want to be a part of this, book your ticket now to ensure your space as numbers are limited. You can find the full schedule of meetings on our What’s On page.
