In Colerne School 's grounds, on their wildlife margins, Adult landed on my hand for about 2 minutes and I was able to get a couple of phone shots of it.

Snake fly (Likely to be Xanthostigma xanthostigma, but scientific name not recognised). Only 4 species found in Britain. Reported to Wiltshire & Swindon Biological Records Centre. A first record of a SnakeFly species for Wiltshire.
