**Live** Children and online gambling: an impending crisis?

50,000 UK children are problem gamblers and social media adverts for betting on eSports (professional video gaming) don’t help. But it’s under the radar. 93% of children play video games but parents are oblivious to the gambling links. The eSports betting market surged 3000% during lockdown to £9bn but it’s almost impossible for the Advertising Standards Authority to regulate. This talk presents new research on the practice and regulation of eSports betting advertising that reaches our children.
