We are becoming ever more reliant on the security and safety of cyber-systems and interconnections to manage our personal lives as well as to keep society running. The talk will review current trends and some of the measures which we can all take to become more secure. It will then explore an important trend in the emergence of cyber-physical systems, in particular those that control critical aspects of modern infrastructure – transport, buildings and utilities, how they have become vulnerable to criminal cyber attack and a primary target in future conflict.
