Is it possible to use art works as proxy data for historical events such as volcanic eruptions and climate change? The skies of Constable and Turner will be examined for evidence of volcanic influence some 80 years before the Royal Society decided whether or not volcanic eruptions thousands of miles away can impact on our skies and climate.
