BIG READ: An Inspector Calls by J B Priestley
Wed 20 April, 2022 at 11:00 am - 12:30 pm BST
Free – £4.00Join us at 16 Queen Square for April’s Big Read, where Marion Reed will lead a discussion on J B Priestley’s An Inspector Calls.
A mysterious inspector investigates the wealthy Birling family and their dinner guests following the suicide of a young woman.
The play has been staged and adapted for screen many times since its first performance in Leningrad in 1945. Its continued appeal and still-relevant messages see it appear regularly on set text lists for English Literature students.
This event is FREE to members and tickets for non-members cost £4; all participants need to register – thank you.
Discussion points will be emailed to you when you have registered / bought your ticket. Big Read is an inclusive, informal event so please don’t feel like you need to be an expert to join in! Just enjoy reading the play and come along for the discussion and to meet like-minded people.
