Creative Writing Workshop with Christopher Edge

The award-winning author of The Many Worlds of Albie Bright, The Jamie Drake Equation, The Infinite Lives of Maisie Day and Escape Room, Christopher Edge, shares his best tips in this story writing masterclass for budding young authors, helping children to beat their fear of the blank page and develop the writing skills required to create great stories. By the end of the workshop, all participants will have written the opening to their very own story. 

For children aged 9+

You can drop children who are 8 or older at these events, so only need to buy a ticket for each child attending. We ask parents/carers to children off at the venue, sign them in, and leave a mobile contact number in case of emergencies. If adults need to stay with their child, they can attend for free.

Christopher Edge is an award-winning children’s author whose books have been translated into more than twenty languages. His novel The Infinite Lives of Maisie Day won the STEAM Children’s Book Prize and his last four novels were all nominated for the prestigious CILIP Carnegie Medal. Before becoming a writer, he worked as an English teacher, editor and publisher – any job that let him keep a book close to hand – and he now lives in Gloucestershire with his wife and family, close to his local library.
