Recent years have seen an increase in the number of disasters and long-term development issues, as well as their impact on human life and global economy. This increase is expected to be sustained due to the upward trends on urbanisation, population density, and the climate change.
This talk will explore the impacts of such disruptive events on business-as-usual, investigate what constitutes humanitarian action, and look at recent experiences from various parts of the world to manage the logistics of humanitarian relief.
